GENERAL CONDITIONS OF LETTING

  1. The accommodation is rented for dwelling purposes only and not for any other use. The lessee cannot sub-rent the accommodation or cede his lease without the authorization of the lessor.
  2. Domestic animals are not permitted except by the authorization received directly from Verbier Location Sàrl.
     
  3. The tenant must be responsible and take all necessary precautions against all kind of damage (water, electricity, frost, etc.). The tenant will be responsible for costs resulting from his negligence and that of other people residing in the chalet/apartment. In addition, the tenant will have to pay for any objects damaged, broken or lost.
  4. Unless claims are made within 48 hours after having taken over the accommodation, it is admitted that the accommodation is in good condition.
     
  5. No liability can be attached to Verbier Location Sàrl for any irregularities in water, electricity or heating facilities and, in general, Verbier Location Sàrl cannot be held liable in default of tenure.
     
  6. Verbier Location Sàrl reserves the right to inspect the accommodation at all times.
     
  7. The house insurance is paid by the owner. The tenant is responsible for the insurance of his personal effects.
     
  8. Cancellation:
    All cancellations must be in writing, preferably by Telefax, and received in our office within the times and stipulations as specified below:

    -        Up to 30 days prior to arrival the cancellation fee is 50 % of the rent.
    -        30 - 7 days prior to arrival the cancellation fee is 80 % of the rent.
    -        7 - 0 days prior to arrival the cancellation fee is 100 % of the rent.
     

    Verbier Location Sàrl strongly recommends the purchase of a relevant insurance policy.
  9. If requested payments do not reach Verbier Location Sàrl in time, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. The cancellation fees listed above will be charged.
     
  10. In case of litigation the court of law will be in Verbier-Bagnes. Swiss law is applicable.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF INSURANCE (CGI) - CANCELLATION COST INSURANCE


Which events are insured?

  1. The EUROPEAN grants insurance protection if an insured person is unable to start his/her journey, rent his/her holiday apartment, a boat or camper, start a language course or hotel stay, etc. as a result to one of the occurrences listed below, provided such an occurrence begins after the journey has been booked:

    a) Severe illness, severe injury, severe pregnancy complications or death
    -          of an insured person,
    -          of a person travelling along with the insured person,
    -          of a person not travelling along with the insured person who is very close to the insured person,
    -          the representative at the place of work so that the presence of the insured person there is essential;

    b) Severe deprivation of the insured person’s property at his/her place of residence due to fire, Act of God, theft or water damage so that his/her presence there is essential;

    c) Non-functioning or delay of the public means of transport to be used to reach the official place of departure (airport, departure railway station, port or coach boarding place) in Switzerland;

    d) Enforceable termination of the insured person’s employment contract within the last 30 days prior to the departure by the employer, and this due to coercive economic distress.
  2. If the person touching off the cancellation through an insured occurrence is neither related by birth or marriage to the insured person, there is only an entitlement to payments if the insured person would have to go on the journey on his/her own.
     
  3. If an insured person suffers from a chronic disease without this disease appearing to call into question the journey at the time the journey is booked, the EUROPEAN will pay the incurred insured costs if the journey must be cancelled due to severe acute aggravation of this disease or if the person dies as a result of the chronic disease.

To which payments is there an entitlement?

  1. The EUROPEAN reimburses the actually incurred or contractually owed cancellation costs if the insured person is unable to start the journey, the tenancy of a holiday apartment, the rent of a boat or camper, a language course or the hotel stay, etc. as a result of an insured occurrence. Globally, this benefit is limited by the price of the arrangement.
     
  2. The additional costs for subsequent journey up to an amount of Sfr. 3,000.—if the journey cannot be started due to an insured event at the scheduled time.
     

To which payments is there an entitlement?

Payments are excluded

  1.
